SLAtech Vantage vs ClickUp

A work platform with guests versus a portal for the client, and a connector between them.

ClickUp is a work management platform where the team manages tasks and time tracking and can invite guests at different permission levels. SLAtech Vantage is a client portal for software projects that shows whoever pays the month, the hours and the money. SLAtech Vantage has a connector that reads tasks and time entries from ClickUp, so in most cases you use both rather than choose.

The short answer

ClickUp is where the team works, and SLAtech Vantage does not try to replace it. If the client needs to work with you on particular tasks, a ClickUp guest covers that. If the client asks where the hours went and what was done this month, SLAtech Vantage builds the answer from the same data.

What ClickUp is built for

ClickUp is a work management platform where the team manages tasks in lists and views it defines. Time tracking is part of the product, and the higher plans add timesheets.

Outside people come in as guests. According to the pricing page, the free plan allows unlimited members and guests, and guests there get full permissions. Paid plans include a limited number of seats for permission-controlled guests, plus unlimited view-only guests. According to the help center, a guest can be given view only, comment, edit or full edit, and cannot share items further.

Where ClickUp is stronger

  • Managing the work itself. Tasks, lists and views the team shapes for itself. SLAtech Vantage is not built as the place where the team plans.
  • Graded guest permissions. From view only to full edit, per item. When the client needs to work on particular tasks, that is precise.
  • Unlimited view-only guests on paid plans, according to the pricing page.
  • Built-in time tracking. The team logs time where it works, with no extra tool.

What SLAtech Vantage does differently

A ClickUp guest sees tasks. A client in SLAtech Vantage sees the month, tied to money:

  • a monthly activity report by department, with hours and an amount per department, and recurring payments such as hosting shown separately;
  • the rate is stored on the hour, so a rate change does not rewrite work already done;
  • a monthly summary written automatically from the report data;
  • an allow list: anything not marked visible to the client stays internal, including a kind of data added in the future;
  • an access log showing the client what was created, changed, deleted and exported from their data.

On the agency side, the same project also gets email, code and error monitoring from Sentry, Rollbar, Bugsnag or Application Insights.

Using both together

This is the easiest case. SLAtech Vantage has a ClickUp connector that reads tasks from a list, together with their time entries.

  • Status is mapped from the status type defined in ClickUp, open or closed, not guessed from its name.
  • Each ClickUp time entry has its own identifier, so loading again does not create duplicates.
  • The connector is read-only and changes nothing in ClickUp.

The team keeps working and logging time in ClickUp, and the hours reach the client's report without anyone copying them.

Who should pick which

  • ClickUp on its own fits when the client works with you on the tasks themselves, and what they need to see is the state of tasks.
  • SLAtech Vantage on top of ClickUp fits an agency whose team is already in ClickUp, while the client asks about the month, the hours and the incidents.
  • Both, with a guest on some tasks, fit when the client both takes part in the work and needs a report.

The SLAtech Vantage interface works in Hebrew, English and Russian, and each user chooses their own language. Outgoing messages are sent in each recipient's language.

What we checked and when

What is said here about ClickUp was checked in October 2026 against the official ClickUp site and help center: the pricing page and the articles on guest types and permissions. Features and plans change, so check the current state there before deciding.

We did not quote prices, because they change. On the ClickUp pricing page, pricing is per user. With SLAtech Vantage you pay per company, with a limit on projects in each plan and no limit on people.

Frequently asked questions

Does SLAtech Vantage replace ClickUp?
No. ClickUp is where the team manages tasks and logs time, and SLAtech Vantage is where the client sees the month. SLAtech Vantage has a connector that reads tasks and time entries from ClickUp, so the team keeps working as usual, and the client gets a report by department, a monthly summary and hours tied to tasks, without anyone preparing them by hand.
What does the SLAtech Vantage connector read from ClickUp?
The connector reads tasks from a ClickUp list, together with their time entries. Status is mapped from the status type defined in ClickUp rather than from its name. Each time entry has its own identifier, so loading again does not create duplicates. The connector is read-only and changes nothing in ClickUp.
Why not just invite the client as a ClickUp guest?
Sometimes that is the right solution, especially when the client takes part in work on particular tasks. A guest sees the tasks shared with them, at the permission level they were given. What they do not get is a picture of the month: how many hours, on what, for what amount, and what changed since last month. SLAtech Vantage builds that from the same data, and notes, rates and margin stay hidden by default.
Are hours from ClickUp stored with a rate?
Yes. When a time entry arrives in SLAtech Vantage, the rate in force is stored with it, so a future rate change does not rewrite work already done. Every line of hours also records who logged it and from which organization, which matters when more than one contractor works on a project. Amounts are shown only to people with the right to see money.
How do the prices compare?
Comparing figures from a page like this is not useful, because prices change. The difference is in the structure: on the ClickUp pricing page, pricing is per user, and paid plans have a limited number of seats for permission-controlled guests. With SLAtech Vantage you pay per company, with a limit on projects in each plan and no limit on people. Current prices are on the pricing page.
